The shoe-type centerless grinding is the core technology in the manufacture of bearings. Known as Microcentric it was invented more than 70 years ago and is still the most popular way to produce precision rings. But this technique has three well-known weaknesses - scattered final roundness, low stiffness and complicated adjustment of the optimal angles. These drawbacks become critical as modern bearings become more precision, thinner and produced in smaller batches.

To solve above problems, we developed RON-Centric – a radically new and the most efficient tooling system for shoe-type grinding operations. It provides the optimal combination of accuracy, productivity and process flexibility due to:

• better and much more stable final roundness;
• increased total stiffness (up to 300% for thin rings);
• easy and fast setup with the fixed angles.

RON-Centric cuts production costs through a smaller proportion of defective rings, a shorter grinding cycle and quick switching to the next product. RON-Centric is the more effective the more difficult the bearing is to grind.
